After The Old Fire |
|
|
The cabin was destroyed on October 29, 2003. It was over a week before Hook Creek Rd was reopened and we could go up and assess the dam- age. As our future son- in-law slowly drove down the street, we past the ruins of our cabin, not recognizing the remains of our own place. (Link to video taken November 8, 2003.) Sieving through the ashes the only thing we found that survived was an inexpensive porcelain doll. Survive is probably an over statement given that all that remained were a few pieces of porcelain that Betty had reassembled as a pirate. |
