July 29 and 30, 2005

This does not look good.  The plaster subcontractor
has some serious stuff to take care of before his crew
can once again climb the scaffolding.

Would you like to climb up on this without adequate planking
and side bars?

Well, the sky is beautiful and look at those clouds!
Our oak trees continue to sprout leaves.  If they can get
through this year, chances are that they will take.

The kitchen counter top proceeds.  Notice how the Palmers
drape the cabinets to protect their surface from being
stained by the cement

James applying a "scratch coat" to the shower stall.

Michael lays down paper to protect the floor and counters
as the counter top is installed.

Master bathroom progresses.

Master bedroom marble surround is complete.
Betty approves.

Reading room marble surround complete.
See what it looked like last week

Close up of the reading room fireplace.  Brian picked
this one up a long time ago with hopes that he would
someday find a place for it.  Finally he did.  Brian collects
all sorts of weird stuff.  Here is a link to a page displaying
his pole arm collection.  What are pole arms?  You'll see.

Here's another view of our living room fireplace.

Check out the railing as viewed from the landing
above the entry.  It is hard to find people who
do this kind of work and do it right.  Nothing prefabed.

The plasterer's crew showed up Saturday and worked
on the scaffolding.  Notice the back railing?
